This is a very unusual Chinese Bronze Dragon Vase.
It is a large vase (11 ½") with intricately cast designs all over
it.. The neck of the vase has a long dragon circling with protruding legs,
claws, and head. The bottom of the vase has two horned dragons facing each
other cast in very high relief. The designs appear to be clouds with the
dragons flying through along with many symbols, more dragons, and designs
of pagodas etc.. It appears to be in pristine condition with one tiny exception.
There is a puncture about half the size of a dime (see pic with arrow).
Maybe one of the most interesting features is the rein mark on the bottom.
It has two dragons with characters in the middle. It is extremely thick
(approx. ¼") and heavy. It weighs in at over 6 lbs. It has nice
patina on the outside and white patina on the inside.
Circa probably late 19th century….
