This is an exceptional Japanese bronze "Buddha". He is standing with his highly decorated robe with intricately cast accessories. He has a large mandrel behind his head as he stands with holding his arm. Note the intricate details on his headdress and face. The base is lotus leaves with his bare feet protruding. The backside has deeply engraved writing. I would love to have it interpreted. He is cast form a light color bronze almost gold. It is a little darker than the pic shows and has very minor starches. Actually it is in very nice condition especially considering his age. He stands 8" tall and is a heavy piece for his size. Circa probably turn of the century or earlier.
